This project is a way for me to explore the homes we build and the neighborhoods in which we construct them. Houses are the foundations of our society, and to see the dilapidation and destruction of them in exchange for newer models speaks volumes about the way Americans live. There seems to be an impermanence in almost every aspect of society, and my efforts to destroy my negatives and reprint them are my attempt at exploring this phenomenon. My goal is to represent these images in a manner that shows that not only are the homes within them impermanent, but my own thoughts on this subject are as well. We cannot escape the transient nature of this life, we can only accept responsibility for our contributions to our society and the homes we build for ourselves.
