2004 starts with a great exhibition"Is a Theme Necessary?"

The artists in Studio 107's upcoming group show are not presenting a new genre or "ism" in painting. They don't choose to exhibit together because they share the same revolutionary vision that will mark a turning point in the history of art. They are individuals, each engaged
in a particular theme, each with a different perspective and inspiration. What brings them together is that they recognize in each others' work a certain quality that has cultivated a kinship among them.

It's not necessary that you search this group show for a common thread. Appreciate the works, as the participating artists have, for their visual and conceptual differences and their mutual standards of quality. Review of exhibit.

Studio 107 was created to establish a dialogue among contemporary artists and to introduce contemporary art to more of Austin.

The works shown at Studio107 are edgy, contemporary, humorous, and technically excellent in execution, concept, implication or all three. The artists who show in this space are dedicated to producing high quality art even if it means late nights after a hard day's work somewhere else. They strive to challenge their peers to achieve a higher level of perception.
